22 years in the making, this fundraiser honors heroes from the Armed Forces tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the Quack for a Cause Reception and supports AltaMed’s Huntington Beach Community Clinic. The rest of the weekend welcomes all ages to the Vendor Festival, a gathering of  crafts,  treats, home decor, jewelry, art and more. Breezes along the beach will provide respite from the heat of Huntington Beach homes during the hottest part of the day, as the Festival runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m on Saturday and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Ducks Call Huntington Beach Home This Weekend – You Gotta See This!

The weekend’s main event, however, is scheduled for 3 p.m. At that time you can witness the migration as thousands of residents and visitors watch their rubber duckies race to the shore. The rubber ducks are dropped from the Huntington Beach Pier and winning ducks will be awarded with prizes. At 1 p.m. larger ducks will enter the Corporate Race, competing for the Golden Duck Trophy. This week’s Aloha Friday brings you the wonderful Sunset Beach Art Festival!  The festival will be held Saturday, May 10th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 11th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  It’s a great place to spend Mother’s Day with the mothers in your life.  The festival is in its 47th year.  It’s a great place to meet your neighbors in Sunset Beach homes.

The event it free.  It’s held at the Community Center and Firehouse Gallery on 12th Street.  Be sure to catch the great live music line up.  The Firehouse Gallery is holding a juried art exhibit by artists working near Sunset Beach homes.

If you’re looking for a gift for your mother, be sure to head over to the grass area between North Pacific and South Pacific, from Broadway to 7th Street.  Artists and crafters will be displaying and selling their work there.  With over 150 vendors, you’re sure to find the perfect Mother’s Day gifts.

After a wholesome morning gardening, head over to the Evelyn Hart Event Center for the Roaring 20′s Casino Party. It’s an annual fundraiser for OASIS Senior Center.
